GENERAL MANAGER
Required for West Wood Club, Dun Laoghaire
Members at West Wood Clubs enjoy swimming pools, tennis courts, gyms, group exercise studios, yoga studios, immersive studios, pilates studios, luxury spas and beauty salons.
Our services include fitness programming, personal training, group fitness classes, tennis coaching, swimming lessons, beauty and spas treatments, and childcare services.

We now need a General Manager, who will take member service to the next level at Dun Laoghaire – West Wood Club, Fitness of the Future.
As member service is a top goal of the GM role – evening and weekend work is essential.
THE GENERAL MANAGER ROLE
The General Manager position is a high-profile club leadership role.
In this role you are fully responsible for the implementation, improvement, and management of all club operations systems, member retention systems, customer service programmes, facilities management, health & safety, and your club’s overall financial success.
Most importantly, your role will involve you working alongside the club sales manager to grow the business through professionally member retention strategies.
As member service is a top goal of the GM role – evening and weekend work is essential.
YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Design, implement, and manage world-class customer service at Dun Laoghaire • Work alongside club sales manager to grow membership and profits through effective member retention management. • Design, manage, and implement facility management systems to ensure everything at your club is 100% perfect for your members every day. • Motivate, manage, and train all your staff to create real value for members by delivering AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE – every day! • Implement staff training programmes for service, retention, and fitness programming • Create a ‘learning’ environment where all staff and managers constantly learn and become leaders in the fitness industry • Ensure your managers work together to deliver an amazing fitness experience. • Ensure your club meets or exceeds all financial goals. • Manage and report on Key Performance Indicators that affect sales and retention. • Be “The FACE” of Dun Laoghaire, by engaging with your members daily.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and EXPERIENCE
• A broad knowledge of all aspects of the fitness industry. • A commitment to learning everything about member retention, facilities management, HR, industry trends, personal training, and non-dues revenue. • Experience interviewing, hiring, and training front line staff • Demonstrate incredible attention to detail and an ability to follow through on plans. • A track record in using performance management techniques, systems, and procedures • An understanding of Key Performance Indicators that affect the success of a fitness club • Leadership qualities and management skills to maximise overall profitability of the club • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Experience managing 15+ plus people in fitness, hospitality, or retail industries • Fitness management experience highly preferred • Excellent supervisory, interpersonal communication, and time management skills • Knowledge of profit and loss and income statements • A keen interest in fitness – and a world view of the fitness industry
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY…
• We are not looking for a manager who knows EVERYTHING. But we are looking for a manager who is keen to quickly LEARN everything they need to get the job done.
