Looking for children’s swimming lessons. West Wood Club has been offering Kid’s swimming lessons for over 25 years. We offer swimming lessons for children of all ages and abilities at our swimming pools at Clontarf Road Dublin 3, Leopardstown Dublin 18, and Westmanstown Dublin 15.

We offer the following as part of all our Junior Swim Lessons:

  • Small class sizes

  • Qualified and experienced teachers

  • Free assessments

  • Classes divided by ability not age

  • Learn to swim while having fun

Children progress through 9 levels of swim instruction

Seal

1. Seal swim lessons

  • Confident movement

  • Kicking on front with aid and face in water

  • Kicking on back with aid

  • Submerging

2. Clownfish swim lessons

  • Kick on front with board

  • Kick on back with board

  • Star floats

  • Push and glides

Octopus

3. Octopus swim lessons

  • Streamline on front without aid

  • Streamline on back without aid

  • Introduce arms with board on front

  • Introduce arms with board on back

Pufferfish

4. Puffer Fish swim lessons

  • Front crawl arms and legs without aid

  • Back crawl arms and legs without aid

  • Mushroom Floats

Seahorse

5. Seahorse swim lessons

  • Introduce bilateral breathing on front with aid

  • Increase swimming distance to 5 metres

6. Goldfish swim lessons

  • Front crawl with breathing without aid

  • Back crawl without aid

  • Breast stroke legs with float

  • Treading water

Dolphin

7. Dolphin swim lessons

  • Front crawl to 15 metres

  • Back crawl to 15 metres

  • Breast stroke arms

  • Co-ordination of Breast stroke arms and legs

  • Dolphin Body Action

8. Angelfish swim lessons

  • Front crawl to 25 metres

  • Back crawl to 25 metres

  • Breast stroke to 25 metres

  • Butterfly arms

  • Butterfly to 25 metres

Shark

9. Shark swim lessons

  • Front crawl to 50 metres

  • Back crawl to 50 metres

  • Breast stroke to 50 metres

  • Butterfly to 50 metres
