Leo Carvalho is the Group Fitness, Personal Training, and Gym Manager at West Wood Club Dún Laoghaire. A native of Brazil, Leo has been with West Wood Club since 2020 and has lived in Ireland for five years. He specializes in Exercise Physiology, Sports Training, Cardiovascular and Knee Rehabilitation, holding numerous certifications, including Personal Training, Physical Education, Nutrition Advising, and Physiotherapy.

An accomplished Les Mills instructor, Leo teaches classes such as Body Combat, Body Attack, Body Pump, The Trip, and Sprint, with additional expertise in Core, Sh’bam, and more. He is currently pursuing further Les Mills certifications, including RPM.

Outside the gym, Leo serves as the Head Coach for the Parkvale Senior Women’s Football team and holds FAI and UEFA coaching qualifications. His additional certifications include Pilates, Aquafit, Zumba, Fitdance, and specialized training for pregnancy, postpartum, and disabilities.

Leo’s extensive experience and diverse qualifications make him a dedicated and effective coach, committed to helping members achieve their fitness goals through personalized training and dynamic group classes.

Luiza Artioli has been an enthusiastic and skilled Personal Trainer at West Wood Club since November 2023.

With an EQF Level 8 degree in group fitness, Luiza brings top-tier qualifications and a deep understanding of fitness principles to her role.

Since joining the West Wood Team, Luiza has further expanded her expertise by becoming a certified Les Mills group fitness trainer, specialising in BodyPump and Les Mills Trip classes. Her passion for fitness goes beyond the gym; Luiza also specializes in nutrition and motivation training, helping clients build a healthy relationship with food while achieving their fitness goals.

Luiza is particularly focused on designing programs that empower people to enjoy their meals—carbs included—without fear of compromising their fitness achievements. Her approachable and supportive style makes her a favourite among clients who appreciate her holistic approach to wellness.

Karoline Fenseca

Karoline Fenseca has been a dedicated Personal Trainer at West Wood Club since July 2024. With a bachelor's degree in physical education and a Level 4 certification in personal training, Karoline brings both academic knowledge and practical expertise to her role.

Karoline is passionate about helping clients build strength and balance, focusing on creating tailored programs that ensure consistency and commitment to their fitness journey. Her approach is centered on delivering the best possible results, guiding her clients every step of the way to achieve their goals.

Since joining West Wood Club, Karoline has embarked on further professional development by training to become a Les Mills instructor. She is excited about the new range of Les Mills classes that will soon be offered at the club, which will provide even more opportunities for members to enhance their fitness under her expert guidance.

Leigh McMorrow has been a passionate and committed Personal Trainer at West Wood Club since August 2023.

With a bachelor's degree in Health & Performance Science and currently pursuing her master's in Dietetics, Leigh is dedicated to staying at the forefront of the fitness industry. Her commitment to continuous learning ensures that she provides the highest level of service to all our members.

Leigh’s expertise is further enriched by her hands-on experience as an assistant at St. Michael’s Hospital, where she has gained valuable insights into health and wellness. This blend of academic knowledge and real-world experience enables her to offer a well-rounded approach to fitness and health.

Since joining West Wood Club, Leigh has also become a certified Les Mills fitness trainer, specialising in BodyBalance and Les Mills Trip. Her dedication to both her professional development and the well-being of her clients makes her an invaluable asset to the West Wood community.

Cassio Alvarez

Cassio has been a dedicated Personal Trainer at West Wood Club since September 2023, bringing with him decades of experience in the fitness industry. First qualified as a personal trainer and fitness instructor in 1988, Cassio has amassed a wealth of knowledge and expertise over the years. His experience is further enriched by his role as a presenter at numerous fitness conventions across South America, where he has shared his insights and passion with others in the industry.

Cassio's enthusiasm for fitness is particularly evident in his love for Les Mills programs. Since joining West Wood Club, he has earned certifications in BodyPump, BodyStep, BodyAttack, Core, and Les Mills Trip. His deep understanding of these programs allows him to deliver dynamic and engaging classes that cater to a wide range of fitness levels.

Noemy Glasspool

Personal Trainer, Noemy Glasspool has been an integral part of West Wood Club since June 2022.

Noemy began her journey with us as front-of-house staff while simultaneously pursuing her qualifications to become a personal trainer. Her dedication and commitment quickly shone through as she transitioned into a key role on our personal training team.

Noemy holds a Level 4 EQF degree in Personal Training, a Level 3 certification as a Group Fitness Instructor, and is also qualified in Nutrition and Physical Activity. Her pursuit of excellence didn’t stop there—upon joining our personal training team, Noemy further expanded her expertise by becoming a certified Les Mills fitness trainer. She has obtained qualifications in Les Mills Trip, Strength Development, and is currently completing her modules for Les Mills RPM.

Noemy has a particular passion for strength training, and her enthusiasm is contagious. If you're ever looking to discuss personal training with Noemy, you’ll likely find her at the squat rack or perfecting her Romanian deadlifts. With a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, along with certifications in Personal Training and Sports Nutrition, Renan offers a comprehensive approach to health and fitness.

Niamh Fitzpatrick - Personal Trainer

Personal Trainer, Niamh Fitzpatrick has been an integral part of the West Wood Club in Dún Laoghaire since 2020. As a highly qualified Les Mills instructor, Niamh brings energy and expertise to all your favorite classes, including BODYPUMP and The Trip. Her diverse skill set extends beyond Les Mills, as she also leads classes in Kettlebell, Spin, Step Aerobics, and Aqua Aerobics, ensuring a wide variety of engaging workouts for members of all fitness levels.

Outside the gym, Niamh channels her passion for fitness into training in MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, disciplines that further enhance her physical conditioning and mental resilience. Her dedication to both fitness and martial arts makes her a well-rounded instructor who inspires her clients to push their limits and achieve their goals.

Alex Leung - Personal Trainer

Personal Trainer, Alex Leung has been a key member of West Wood Club since 2014, starting as a promotion and sales intern before transitioning into roles as a Lifeguard Instructor, Swim Coach, and ultimately a Personal Trainer.

Alex holds a Level 6 FETAC in Sport and Recreation Studies, a Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training, and various certifications, including Les Mills instructor qualifications.

Joining the Gym Team in December 2021, Alex teaches a range of classes, including BodyPump, RPM, The Trip, Sprint, Kettlebell, Boxing, Spin, Functional HIIT, and Aqua Aerobics. His expertise also extends to leading Adult Swimming Lessons and working with children’s physical activity.

Alex’s favorite classes to teach are Les Mills BodyPump and The Trip. He firmly believes that “mobility work is as important as weight training,” reflecting his holistic approach to fitness and commitment to delivering the best results for his clients.

Javier Chacón has been a dedicated personal trainer at Westmanstown, Dublin 15, since September 2019. With a specialization in swimming and aqua therapy, Javier is passionate about enhancing quality of life and helping clients prevent injuries and manage chronic conditions through tailored aquatic programs.

A graduate of the Sports Science University in Barcelona, Javier brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role. In addition to personal training, he is a certified instructor in Body Pump, Body Attack, Body Balance, Sprint, and Trip, offering a diverse range of classes to meet clients' fitness needs.

Javier's athletic achievements are equally impressive. He is a two-time medalist in the Catalonia Swimming Championship and has consistently ranked among Spain's top 10 in the 100m butterfly and 100m medley for four consecutive years.

Paddy Dowling has been a Personal Trainer at Westwood Club since August 2021. Originally from Dubai, Paddy has made Ireland his home for the past five years. He specializes in functional fitness, fat loss, hypertrophy training, and sport-specific conditioning, offering a comprehensive approach to help clients achieve their fitness goals.

Paddy is not only a fully qualified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor but also a skilled Massage Therapist, adding a holistic dimension to his training programs. He is also an instructor of Les Mills Body Pump, bringing high energy and expertise to his classes.

Outside the gym, Paddy is an active rugby player with Old Belvedere RFC and is currently pursuing a degree in Medicinal Chemistry at UCD, showcasing his dedication to both physical and academic excellence.

Ciara is a certified Group Instructor (EQF Level 3) and Personal Trainer (EQF Level 4), bringing both her expertise and enthusiasm to every client she works with. She is committed to helping others achieve their fitness goals and live healthier, more active lives.
