Big news for sports lovers! West Wood Club Leopardstown is opening Ireland’s biggest indoor padel and pickleball centre in Summer 2025.

We are building eight top-quality padel courts in Dublin and four professional pickleball courts inside a brand-new Air Dome. This will replace the existing Dome 2.

This expansion makes West Wood Club Leopardstown the largest indoor padel and pickleball centre in Ireland—and one of the largest padel centres in Europe. Whether you are a seasoned player or just starting, these courts will take your game to the next level.

What is Padel? What is Pickleball?

Padel: The Fastest-Growing Sport in the World

Padel is a mix of tennis and squash. It’s played in an enclosed court with glass walls, allowing rebounds. Players use solid rackets and a pressurised ball. The game is fast, fun, and social.

Pickleball: The Sport Taking Over Ireland

Pickleball combines tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It’s played on a small court with paddles and a light plastic ball. It’s easy to learn and great for all ages.

Padel vs Pickleball:

  • Padel is played in an enclosed glass court, while pickleball is played on an open court.

  • Padel uses solid rackets and a pressurised ball, while pickleball uses paddles and a light ball.

  • Padel relies on strategic shots and wall rebounds, while pickleball is about quick reflexes and net play.

Who Can Play?

These courts are open to everyone—from beginners to pros. The two Premier Padel courts are reserved for players aged 14+ to keep play at a high level.
