Leopardstown Renovation Update 2025

Why We’ve Been Tearing Leopardstown Apart — And What’s Coming Next

It’s been a long year at West Wood Club Leopardstown.

Dust, noise, detours — and a few weeks where it felt like the club was more building site than gym.

But every bit of that disruption has had one purpose: to give you one of the best, most advanced fitness club experiences in Ireland.

A Multi-Million-Euro Transformation

Over the past two years, we’ve been carrying out a multi-million-euro renovation across every floor of West Wood Club Leopardstown.

It’s the biggest transformation in our history — and we’ve done it all while staying fully open for members.

And now, the results are finally taking shape.

Already Completed

  • NEW Ladies Changing Rooms

  • NEW Men’s Changing Rooms

  • NEW Family Changing Rooms

  • NEW Gravity Pilates Studio

  • NEW Ladies Gym

  • NEW Tennis Dome with seven indoor courts

  • NEW Fitzone for junior members

  • Part 1 of the Gym Renovation: new cardio zone and Ireland’s first Les Mills Ceremony experience

We know these works have taken longer than anyone would like, but completing upgrades of this scale while the club remains open is always a challenge.

Opening 1 December (Hopefully)

The final stage of the first-floor gym renovation is nearly complete — and it’s going to be something special.

What’s opening 1 December:

  • Completely redesigned Mind & Body Studio

  • Premium Member Stretch Zone

  • The Five Concept Mobility Studio (only the second in Ireland)

  • Dedicated Bench Press Strength Gym

  • All-new Boxing Zone for all levels

  • A “secret,” revolutionary new training zone revealed on 1 December — the first of its kind in Ireland

The Tough Decision That Delayed Us — And Why It Was Worth It

We decided to go even further, investing in a SMART €2.8 million energy-efficient air-management system.

That decision caused a short delay, but it means every member will soon train in the healthiest, cleanest, and most comfortable environment possible — quite literally, a breath of fresh air.

To help move things along faster, we’re making a few temporary adjustments on the first floor:

  • The Squat Room will move to the current Dumbbell Room

  • The Dumbbell Room will move to the Outdoor Gym (just outside the main club entrance)

  • The Bench Press area will also move to the Outdoor Gym

These changes allow us to build two NEW Power Strength Training Rooms for men and women — and finish the entire first floor by January.

Coming February 2026 — Ireland’s Largest Indoor Padel & Pickleball Venue

We’re also close to unveiling Ireland’s largest indoor Padel and Pickleball facility, right here at Leopardstown.

It’s been a massive project — after discovering major structural ground issues, we brought in engineering specialists and rebuilt everything from the ground up.

A Final Word — And a Sincere Thank You

We know this past year has tested your patience, and we genuinely want to thank you and apologise for the disruption.

We understand how frustrating it can be when your club doesn’t feel quite like home. But every bit of noise, dust, and delay has been for a reason.

We’re building something extraordinary — not just a better fitness club, but a completely new experience for you and every Leopardstown member.

And remember, this isn’t just about Leopardstown.

We’re continuing to reinvest across all six West Wood Clubs in Dublin, making each one stronger, smarter, and better for our members.

So from all of us — thank you for sticking with us.

You’ll soon see exactly why it was worth it.
