West Wood Club Clontarf is not an average gym.
It is widely regarded as one of the most successful health clubs in the world.
With 13,000 members, this is a high-volume, high-energy, results-driven fitness environment where standards matter and where leadership on the gym floor makes a real difference.
This is a busy, busy, busy club. If you don’t love that — this role is not for you.
We are looking for an exceptional Gym Manager to lead the fitness floor and take full responsibility for delivering an outstanding experience to every member.
You will lead a large staff of:
personal trainers
fitness instructors
group fitness instructors
You will report directly to the Club General Manager, playing a key leadership role in the overall performance of one of the busiest health clubs in Ireland.
This role requires confidence, presence, and leadership.
This is not a quiet management position.
This is a frontline leadership role in a club where:
85% of members use the gym
81% join to achieve results (get fit, lose weight, build strength, tone up)
69% of new members are beginners or inexperienced
37% attend fitness classes
That tells you everything.
Your job is to build an environment where:
beginners feel comfortable
regular members stay engaged
results are consistently delivered
standards never drop
Deliver the best gym experience in Ireland — every single day.
You will do this by:
leading from the front on the gym floor
developing and mentoring fitness professionals
ensuring every member gets the support they need
maintaining elite standards in service and coaching
Lead a High-Performance Fitness Staff
You will lead, mentor, and develop a large staff of fitness professionals.
Your goal is clear: build one of the best-trained fitness staffs in the industry.
You will:
recruit, train, and develop personal trainers and instructors
deliver continuous staff training and mentoring
drive standards in coaching, communication, and professionalism
build a culture of accountability and excellence
This is a results-driven club.
Members expect progress.
You will ensure:
members receive expert guidance and support
beginners are introduced to the gym in a structured, supportive way
fitness staff actively engage and coach members
Our FREE 6-Day Personal Training Plan is delivered to a high standard
You are not an office manager.
You are a gym floor leader.
You will:
spend your time on the floor, not behind a desk
engage with members continuously
support and coach your staff in real time
ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation
Members should feel the difference the moment they walk in.
We are currently undergoing a multi-million-euro upgrade, including the addition of new world-class fitness studios.
You will play a key role in:
delivering exceptional group fitness experiences
managing class standards and instructor performance
ensuring members fully engage with new studio offerings
maintaining excellence across all Les Mills programmes
This role requires a strong, confident leader.
You are someone who:
loves being on the gym floor
thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
has the presence to lead a large staff
is passionate about helping people get real results
is obsessed with delivering exceptional customer service
stays calm and in control under pressure
You don’t want a 9–5 job. You want to be where the action is.
You understand something most people in fitness miss:
most members are beginners
many feel intimidated
many don’t know what to do
You know how to:
simplify fitness
build confidence in members
create an environment where people feel comfortable and supported
You can balance:
member needs
staff development
business performance
Few roles in the industry offer this level of:
scale
responsibility
impact
You will:
lead one of the busiest gyms in Ireland
shape the experience of 13,000 members
develop a large staff of fitness professionals
play a key role in a major club upgrade
For the right person, this is a serious career opportunity.
If you’re ready to step up into a senior leadership role and take responsibility for a high-performance gym environment, we want to hear from you.
