At the West Wood Club, Dublin 18 early education academy we offer parents the FREE sessional ECCE scheme for their children aged 2yrs 8 months to 5 years. Our highly qualified ECCE Scheme staff provide you with the perfect experience to get your child ready for their personal adventure on to big school.

Our friendly and dedicated FREE ECCE Scheme staff will provide your child with:
A play-based curriculum using the recommended Aistear Framework
Hands-on experiences
Child-led activities which are guided by our fully qualified ECCE scheme staff
A stimulating, inclusive and diverse environment where children learn a sense of identity and belonging.
We offer the ECCE Scheme childcare programme from 9:15 – 12:15. With the option of extra childcare until 1pm for an additional €3 per day.

Leanne O’Toole, Childcare manager
Hi, I’m Leanne. I’m the FREE ECCE Scheme Childcare manager at West Wood Club, Leopardstown, Dublin 18.
I’ve been working in childcare since 2011. I’ve worked in fulltime day-care, childminding and sessional childcare. And I have a vast amount of experience working with all age groups.
I am currently studying my BA HONS Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care.
I strive to build strong trusting relationships with all parents as I know how nervous you can be when leaving your children. I want you to know that your children are my number one priority and that they are in very safe hands with all my staff.
Children of the preschool age are inquisitive little explorers who are trying to make sense of the world around them. And it is our job to provide the answers to all of their questions, so that they grow up to become confident children right up until adulthood.
I believe that Play is vital, in all aspects of a child’s development. At the West Wood Club Childcare Academy, it is our duty to provide the resources and experiences that makes your child’s experience a happy, fun and fulfilled one.

Orla Fulham, ECCE Scheme and SNA teacher
Hi I’m Orla.
I am a fully qualified FREE ECCE Scheme and SNA teacher.
I have 4 children of my own, 3 sons and 1 daughter.
I ran my own small childcare business for 8 years. During that time I decided to do a Montessori course which landed me my position as a preschool teacher in Fitzone at West Wood Club since 1999. I took a year out and returned in 2005 and have worked here ever since.
I love childcare and I love working with this age group. They are so unpredictable and absolutely hilarious. And no two days are ever the same. I honestly couldn’t imagine working at anything else.

Emma Jane Walsh, Junior ECCE Scheme teacher
Hi, my name is Emma Jane and I have 16 years’ experience working in West Wood Club Childcare.
I’ve worked with all age groups from 3 months to 12 years old. Currently I work in our Junior FREE ECCE Scheme room.
I have my QQI Level 5 in Childcare and a QQI Level 6 SNA. With the preschool age group, I love getting to see their personalities grow and develop each day. And I love watching them grow in confidence and making new friends is something that I find very rewarding.
I build up trust with the children so that they know they have someone to come to if they are upset. The most rewarding part of my day is seeing children come in happy and go home happy.

Laura McGearty, Junior ECCE Scheme Teacher
Hi I’m Laura. I have been working in Fitzone at West Wood Club for 16 years.
I am a Mom of 3 children. I love teaching and being a part of the FREE ECCE Scheme team at West Wood Club.
My favourite part about preschool is the children’s unique and spirited personalities and having the opportunity to feed their interests. I love to get all children involved in group activities, play and art projects. I love to listen to the children’s stories and watching their personalities grow as they embrace their adventures in preschool.
Jenny Kearney, ECCE level 6 SNA and level 6 childcare practitioner
Hi I’m Jenny. I’ve been working at the NEW West Wood Club Childcare and Early Education Academy for 4 years.
I am a fully qualified Free ECCE Scheme level 6 SNA and level 6 childcare practitioner. I’m also mom to my own 4 children.
I have worked with all the different age ranges during my time at West Wood Club childcare, from 3 months to 12 years old.
My favourite part of working with children is watching them explore through play and develop skills that they will use as they grow well in to adulthood.
I find it hugely rewarding that I get to be a part of a child’s development and watch them mature day by day, growing into confident, caring, happy little people who make me laugh every day.
